This year's Summer Lecture speaker was William Matthews who talked to us about his fascinating career including working on the Shard before establishing his own practice. He was then able to explain the work he is carrying out on the new footbridge at Tintagel for English Heritage, having won the competition in conjunction with engineers Ney & Partners.

Christmas Lunch & Branch Meeting

We had a fantastic tour of Knightor Winery followed by a tasting session and talk on the wines produced there. Following this we enjoyed a Christmas Lunch in the restaurant with a chance to discuss opportunities for 2019. Good range of Christmas jumpers on display. Many purchases were also made in the winery shop following lunch. It was a very Merry Christmas.
Cornwall Council Design Training
Chy Trevail, Bodmin
December 2018
The second training session of the year used real life site in Cornwall (a former clay dry) which delegates had to analyse in teams before coming up with a strategy for development. They also had the opportunity to interview four of the Council's statuatory consultees as part of the process: Highways, Ecology, Drainage and Historic Buildings. Finally each team presented their strategy to the group.
Feedback was great, the most positive the Council has had from a design training session.
